Insufficient registration and wet weather has forced the cancellation of one today’s Christchurch Pride events however the majority of festivities will continue rain or shine.

The Wet & Wild Sports NZ present: Paddle Boarding event has been cancelled and a full refund will be given to those who had already registered.

The only other event in the outdoors today is the Lambda Latte Walk which Christchurch Pride organisers believe went ahead as planned.

Organisers say luckily there are no more outdoor events planned until next weekend when hopefully the weather will have cleared for the sea kayaking event.

If you’re looking for something to do this rainy Sunday, be sure to head to the Christchurch Pride yoga event at Vodafone Innov8, 2.30pm. Instructor Anthony G Deyn will take you through a fun, challenging and inclusive yoga session, just bring along a gym towel and water bottle. Those with yoga mats are also asked to bring them along if possible.

Christchurch Pride Chairperson, Jill Stevens says the yoga event is part of a bigger focus for this year’s festival. “This year we have wanted to bring a bigger selection of free, family orientated and none alcohol events, don't get me wrong we do love to party, however we want to share a inclusiveness to the entire rainbow community in Christchurch so we are always looking at adding new events.”
