New Board members needed: NZAF Board Chair Mark Henrickson

Larry Jenkins, a Board member since 2007, has resigned from the Trust Board with immediate effect, citing personal reasons. Jenkins declined to comment to GayNZ.com on his reasons for his decision.

Peter Taylor, also a Board member last year, has notified the Board of his intent to resign at the NZAF's upcoming AGM due to his profound hearing loss.

In a letter to NZAF staff members and also posted on the website for the Foundation's members, Trust Board Chair Mark Henrickson publicly thanked the two outgoing members for their hard work and dedication.

"We would like to express our gratitude to Larry and Peter for the time they have volunteered, and their efforts and support in helping us address the impact of HIV/AIDS in our communities," he writes.

"We are also very grateful to the continuing and new members of the Trust Board and we look forward to welcoming new members to our family in November."

The Trust Board expects that both of these positions will be filled by people elected by NZAF members at the AGM on 29 November 2008.

"I hope that you will encourage passionate, qualified individuals who are prepared to make the enormous commitment of time and energy required of Trustees to stand for these two elected positions," Henrickson tells NZAF members.

"We hope a large pool of candidates who represent the diverse communities served by the Foundation will stand for election. More information about the nomination and election process will be released shortly."
