The Wellington Gay Welfare Group will run a trainee intake day for its long-running Helpline on Saturday 18 October.

The Wellington Gay Helpline – formally known as the Gay Switchboard – is a support service staffed by volunteers who can listen to and talk with others needing to havecontact about anything they are concerned about, and in particular about their sexuality.

"If you are gay or lesbian or another colour of our great rainbow and are interested in helping us operate the Helpline, we are interested in hearing from you," say the group.

The training session will start at 9.30am with tea/coffee and greet and meet chats for a 10am start and will finish by 4:30pm. The session willtake place at a central location in central Wellington.

Again, if you think you might be interested in joining the organisation to help fellow queers, especially in their sexual identity struggles, ring the Helpline on 04 473 7878 leaving your contact details and someone will get back to you with more information.
