A new NZ-made calendar shows that man's best friend is a lesbian's best buddy too.

The 2010 calendar shows twelve photos of lesbian singles and couples with their perfect pooches.

The calendar's producer Toni Stringfield tells GayNZ.com that she found the models through an ad in the newspaper which simply said 'dyke with camera seeks dykes with dogs for photo project' "and there was a picture of my dog Maud."

But were the canine models tricky to photograph? "The individual dykes and their dogs were all really easy to work with," Stringfield responds."The dogs were actually all good and well trained/behaved. The odd little encouragement with a smidgen of high quality dog treat also helped keep their attention!"
