Denied bail: Glenn Mills
Mills, who has been in remand prison since his May 28 arrest and who faces 28 charges relating to fourteen young sex partners he contacted primarily through internet dating sites, had an application for bail denied by a district court judge four weeks ago. This was appealed to the High Court but after a one hour long closed chambers hearing this afternoon High Court Justice Paul Heath also denied the application.

Further details of today's hearing may not be reported, on specific instruction from Justice Heath.

Mills is next due to appear in court on November 30, when a decision is expected as to whether there should be a depositions hearing in this case. The charges against Mills straddle the date of a change in legal process designed to streamline court procedure by doing away with depositions hearings.

He will also appear in the High Court on March 24 for the hearing of
a suspect compulsion application, which may force a blood sample to be taken from Mills for evidential testing.
