Cupid is a gay toy boy. Dasher is a rugby jock. Vixen is a doe with a tale to tell. And scandal erupts as one of sleazy Santa's eight reindeer accuses him of decidedly un-Christmas like behaviour… with Rudolph!

Forget happy elves and cute smiling reindeer; the Basement (formally the Silo Theatre in Lower Greys Ave, Auckland) brings you a rude and crude take on Santa's North Pole crew as they prepare from Christmas Eve.

The Eight: Reindeer Monologues sees director Cameron Rhodes coordinating a cast of 40 actors including an array of established actors supported by some hot new acting talent leading lights such as Michael Hurst, Oliver Driver, Antonia Prebble, Claire Chitham, Sarah Wiseman, Shane Bosher, Madeleine Sami, Fleur Saville, Dean O'Gorman,Anna Jullienne and many more.

The show and its in-your-face seasonal merriment has had sell-out success around the world – and could well be a great antidote to Christmas commercialism!
