Three gay porn DVDs have been withdrawn from sale in the UK, following an investigation into the health risks of porn-stars' unprotected sex.

The BBC reports that two of the DVDs featured footage from a week-long shoot involving eight male British models having sex with each other in multiple combinations without condoms.

Four of those who took part were diagnosed as HIV-positive soon after. One of the men says he was distressed that footage had been put on sale which he believed showed him becoming infected.

Most heterosexual porn has never featured condoms, but showing unprotected sex in gay porn became a concern after HIV emerged in the 1980s, and increasingly again now as some porn producers are offering 'bareback' titles featuring sex without condoms.
