The chief of Chicago's public school system has proposed that one of twenty likely new schools in the area be aimed at gay, lesbian and transgender teenagers.
Called the School For Social Justice Pride Campus, the school would cater to, but not exclusively to, gay youth. Public hearings on the concept are underway and a vote by the schools board is expected around October 22.
