Hollywood stars Nicole Kidman and Gwyneth Paltrow are set to play husband and wife as the true story of the world's first post-op transsexual gets a film treatment.
According to Variety magazine, Kidman will be in the role of Einar Wegener, a Danish artist who was born a man but went on the live as a woman, eventually undergoing a series of sex change operations.
Wegner married illustrator Gerta Gottlieb - who will be played by Paltrow - in 1904, and the couple remained married until 1929, when the marriage was annulled since Wegener had transitioned.
The film's script is based on the novel The Danish Girl, by David Ebershoff.
