The mother of a gay teenager who was bashed to death says she was shocked to discover someone else was using her son's photo to represent themselves on a dating website.
Marie Causer lost her 18-year-old son Michael in 2008. The 20-year-old who beat and kicked him to death has been jailed for eleven years.
She told the Liverpool Echo of her shock at seeing Michael's photo had been used on dating site QueerPersonals.co.uk by a user calling themselves 'Johnbose'. "I logged on to Mickey's tribute page on Facebook and couldn't believe it when I saw that someone has posted Johnbose's profile on it to expose him," she explained.
"I just can't believe someone would stoop this low. If they got it from Mickey's page they would have seen the tributes to him."
The dating website was contacted and the 'Johnbose' profile was deleted within twenty minutes.
