Kalvery Klongotoa & Sarah Lambourne
Maori Television's award-winning LGBT programme Takataapui returns for a sixth series on Monday 28 April.

The first of twenty documentary-style episodes presents a cross-section of dynamic voices of young people in the takataapui community whose words provide a candid, fresh, considered and entertaining catalogue of not only how the world looks through their eyes, but also how they view their place in the world.

From handling discrimination to whanau reaction to coming out, from HIV/AIDS epidemic to tikanga in their lives, their thoughts are told with political kaha and frank statements.

This is an honest and delightful half hour of korero as told by those who walk the walk every day.

The participants for The World According to Rangatahi are:

Jordan Harris - Hauora Takataapui NZAF, Phylesha Brown Acton – fa'afafine, Pacific Peoples Project Manager NZAF, Miss Kola Bola – drag personality, Airline Customer Relations, Kalvery Klongotoa - Camera Operator TV3, Stacey Kerapa – whakawahine, National Netball Referee, Steven Oates - Presenter/Director, Peter Huia - Kaiako Kapahaka, Sarah Lambourne - FLIRT Coordinator, Levi Bristow – Kaipapāho.

Takataapui is broadcast on Maori Television each Monday night at 9:30pm, then repeats on Freeview's Stratos channel at 10pm. The programme will also be made available on demand via Gay Gogglebox TV on the link below.
