Vacancy: GayNZ.com news and features writer/supervisor
(salary and terms negotiable)
If you're passionate about writing for and about New Zealand's glbt
communities this will be the perfect job for you.
But working at NZ's most used and award winning glbt lifestyle website will
be more than just a job.
The 'scene'
You will be eager to maintain close connections with the people and
organisations who create events and facilities for glbt people. You will
gain satisfaction from seeing glbt people's lives and lifestyles reflected
on the internet and associated digital media. And you will want to see
problems aired and solutions celebrated.
The media
You will be a committed user of social networking and other digital and new
media, able to utilise it as a means of communication to and from the
GayNZ.com news and features operation.
The voices
You will seek out and find a variety of voices from within our glbt
communities, encouraging and assisting them to produce their own material,
whether it be images, writing or informal opinions and observations and
seing it presented through GayNZ.com.
You will be ably supported by a small team of equally committed volunteers,
including New Zealand's most experienced glbt media editor.
The position is likely to be Auckland-based and 'work from home' and would
suit one person with all the above interests who is self-motivated and
writes to a high standard. However, we would consider splitting the
position between two or even three part-timers with skills in each of the
above areas.
Applications close 5pm Monday 15 March.
