Founded and run by those living with HIV in New Zealand, Body Positive is a peer support organisation.
Offering support to those who live with HIV, Body Positive offers support services and has created a safe community that advocates for those affected at a national level.
Body Positive provides a wide range of services with a strong stance on helping break down the sense of isolation HIV+ people can often experience as well as building a strong sense of community and well-being.
Most of the services provided by Body Positive are free of charge and will go the extra mile to assist in anything extra people may needs.
Body Positive offers a drop-in centre, Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm. Whether its to stop by for a cup of coffee, use the telephone, elax in the lounge, have a nap, chill on the couch or to chat with members of staff, it is a safe space for those living with HIV.
There is also free rapid HIV testing, peer navigation, Postive Health support schemes to assist people living with HIV to pay for medical fees and associated healthcare costs, WINZ support, a foodbank, welness fund, a circle of friends memorial, sexual health clinic, massage therapy, The Positive Speakerss Bureau and online courses.
