Support Services in Aotearoa New Zealand

If you’re going through a tough time, you’re not alone. There’s no shame in reaching out. There are a number of support services specifically for our LGBTQ+ whānau. Whether you need someone to talk to, help navigating your identity, or support with your wellbeing, these organisations are here for you:

  • Outline

    Free and confidential support line for LGBTQIA+ people, available 6–9PM every day.

  • Rainbow Youth

    Support, resources, and drop-in centres for queer and gender diverse youth (13–27).

  • InsideOUT

    Works to make Aotearoa a safer place for rainbow young people – offers resources, training, and school support.

  • Gender Minorities Aotearoa

    Run by and for trans people – offers peer support, advocacy, and health navigation.

  • Lifeline

    Available 24/7 for anyone needing mental health support. Not LGBTQIA+ specific, but very inclusive.
