LGBTI support organisation OUTLine has been lucky to secure two new corporate sponsors during Auckland Pride Festival this year.

Countdown Ponsonby and ANZ have both got on board to sponsor the organisation

The opportunity for Countdown Ponsonby to sponsor an organisation came via the Auckland Pride Festival Board, who recommended OUTLine as a potential recipient.

General Manager of OUTLine, Trevor Easton says after meeting with Countdown Ponsonby, they offered to support both OUTLine and the Festival itself.

Easton says “They donated $1000 to OUTLine and have put donation boxes at their checkout for the remainder of February. They also have our brochures in their Ponsonby store.

“I’m hoping this is an ongoing partnership,” he says. “They are extremely nice, generous people.”

ANZ is a long-time partner of OUTLine and Easton says this year the organisation is part of the bank’s “Hold tight” campaign.

The bank is donating the transaction costs at each ATM to OUTLine.

ANZ Managing Director Retail and Business Banking and ANZ NZ Pride Network sponsor Antonia Watson says “We’ve launched this new #HoldTight initiative so we can get behind our LGBTI staff, customers and community to share our support for equality.

“It also sends a powerful message to our staff that we want them to be true to themselves at work.

“We’re hoping Kiwis jump on board the campaign and demonstrate how we live in an accepting and open society that’s proud to celebrate diversity.”
