This Sunday is Mother's Day - and Ponsonby Road's campiest venue will welcome our community's treasured mums with a special High Tea.

Dorothy's Sister owner Peter Taylor says high tea will be served from 11am on Sunday 11 May.

"We will have a selection of cucumber sandwiches, asparagus roles, Devonshire scones with cream and jam and assorted retro cakes," he promises.

"Mothers can be treated to our fine traditional treats to accompany a fine pot of tea, our gorgeous organic coffee or a lovely glass of wine."

Beforehand, this Saturday night will feature a show from Hamilton's well-known drag diva Miss Gloriousole, treating Dorothy's Sister to her cabaret performance at 10pm. "Patrons are advised to get there early and claim a seat," says Taylor. "Vera and Doreen will host the gal from Mooland."
