A Christchurch transgender man has laid a complaint with the Human Rights Commission claiming his gym membership was terminated because of his plans to change his gender, reports the Christchurch Press.

Andrew Dobson's Pro-Fitness gym membership was terminated in April, after a manager claimed there had been a number of body odour complaints made against him – but Dobson says the gym's management was just tying to find an excuse to get rid of him after he disclosed his plans to transition and live permanently as a woman.
