'Happiest Gay Couple' coming to TV2

An outrageous Lego-animated sitcom featuring three very different gay and lesbian couples will begin on TV2 this month.

Rick & Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple In All The World is scheduled for 10pm Friday nights from 28 November.

The show's characters include the IQ-mismatched Rick and Steve, young-old gay couple Chuck and Evan, and butch-femme dyke duo Dana and Kirsten, who all live in the fictional 'gay ghetto' of West Lahunga Beach. Their voices are provided by a cast of out entertainers including Alan Cumming and Peter Paige.

In the first episode – Guess Who's Coming For Quiche? – Dana and Kirsten ask Rick for his sperm so they can start a family, and Rick and Steve consider a threesome to spice up their bedroom life.

The show began last year with six episodes in the States, and premièred in the UK in September 2008. A second series started Stateside this week.

The lead-in for Rick & Steve on TV2 will be another new series featuring an out gay TV favourite – Little Britain USA, which begins at 9:30pm the same night.
