The fourth anniversary of Auckland women's night Flirt this Saturday will pay tribute to America's Independence Day, and feature live burlesque dancers.

"This Saturday 4th July is Flirts 4th Birthday and it'll be the biggest party ever," promises promoter Sarah Lambourne.

"It's an American theme - so come dressed in red, white or blue," she suggests. There will be prizes for the best dressed.

Doors will open at 10pm both at the Naval & Family bar and upstairs at Purple bar, providing two levels of entertainment.

"Upstairs, DJ Danielle will be taking us on an American journey playing RnB and Hip Hop from the 80's through to today," says Lambourne. "There will be a guest DJ spot from DJ Tilstar - who will be playing some hot Hip Hop tracks as well.

"Downstairs at Midnight we'll have two performances from The Vixens, a fabulous burlesque dance troupe. Later on, drag diva Karma Chaos will entertain us with a rock chick show. DJ Love and DJ Dee will keep downstairs busy in between the shows."

Flirt started in 2005 as an unpretentious and fun social night for lesbian and bi women. The popular event - which features uniformed Flirt Police who help single partygoers connect and flirt with other singles - now happens twice a month.
