RainbowYOUTH have released a new version of the Gender and Sexuality 101 resource just in time for New Zealand Sign Language week.

The resource was written and illustrated by Sam Orchard and the New Zealand sign language edition has been two years in the making.

“DeafRadio worked really hard to bring it to life, and it involved a lot of research into what signs should be used, and negotiating the often challenging task of translating concepts into sign,” says RainbowYOUTH 2IC Toni Duder.

“Everyone has a sexual orientation, a sex and a gender identity. It’s important that a resource like this, which covers these things is as accessible as possible. So, when the opportunity and funding came along for this project we jumped at it. We’re super proud and impressed with the result.”
