WGN: Relocated Checkmate Sauna opens

Wellington's Checkmate Sauna crew has now moved into and reopened the old Club Wakefield venue on Tory Street.

The venue re-opened last night, after just over a month closed.

Manager Joe George says there is still a small amount of work to be done renovating the all-male sex-on-site venue, but is looking forward to operating the larger space.

The venue's revamp makes much of stainless steel and varnished unstained wood. A wet and a dry sauna, steam room, lounge area, lockers and showers are all available.

The old Checkmate Sauna site on Garret Street has now ceased trading.
