Sydney's 'The L Word' convention cancelled

Sydney's convention dedicated to popular lesbian TV drama The L Word has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales, it has just been announced.

Originally planned for January 2010, the three-day event at Sydney's Olympic park Sports Centre would have featured several actors from the hit show.

Ticket refunds will be processed in the next few days, say the event's organisers.

After six seasons, The L Word finished this year and the entire wardrobe and props departments for the show were auctioned off. A spin-off was planned, but is now in doubt as the show's host network Showtime declined to pick it up.
