Hit US drama Desperate Housewives will get its first full-on lesbian relationship, it has been revealed.
Wisteria Lane resident Katherine Mayfair, played by Dana Delaney, will be seduced by a new friend who turns out to be a stripper. They end up in bed together, leading to drama for the pair.
Desperate stars Teri Hatcher and Eva Longoria locked lips last year on the show, but TV insiders say Katherine's same-sex storyline breaks new ground for the show, which has gay creator and has featured several gay male relationships.
Meanwhile, openly gay actor John Barrowman – a star of UK shows Doctor Who and Torchwood – is confirmed to play a Desperate Housewives villain in five upcoming episodes.
