Sir Ian McKellen has served as the Grand Marshal of the 2010 Manchester Pride Parade, in which thousands of people took to the streets.

It was the 20th anniversary of the event, with BBC reporting more than 100 groups and floats made their way through the city centre.
The streets were lined with people despite heavy rain showers.
The parade is part of the annual Pride festival, which stages events in and around the Gay Village throughout the bank holiday weekend.
It raises money for LGBT organisations and groups across Greater Manchester.
