Bike Pals is kicking off its new Climate Rides series with a 16km cruise along Te Auaunga, one of the city's favourite urban awa. Starting at Arch Hill Scenic Reserve, the ride follows shared paths and cycleways past parks and bridges before ending at the Ōwairaka pump track for a picnic party.
Expect warm soup and snacks, tricks on the pump track, and a play on Māra Hūpara — a traditional Māori playground. Bring your own picnic goodies if you'd like, plus a mug and spoon for the soup.
It's a no-drop ride at a social pace, so all bikes and abilities are welcome. You'll need your own bike and helmet. This ride is for the queer community and is R16.
